Great benefit to the individuals! This program enables our individuals to do
things they really like with their money. We have 23 individuals in our ICF
home enrolled. For some of our individuals, it is an added incentive to
go/maintain work because they can see the real value of their labor. They
can now go shopping for things they desire, handle pre-needs, and also
experience wonderful vacations they would not have otherwise afford.

We have a strong philosophy of giving back to the community at Siffrin. We
discuss with the individuals what charities there are and what may interest
them. We even put a brochure together of many local charities to give them
choices . We have had individuals give so a 9 year old with a brain tumor
could swim with the dolphins. Another individual donated to a group of
cheerleaders with disabilities to go to a national competition. The feeling
of wanting to contribute and making something positive happen is, I believe,
inherent in all if us. Make sure it is spelled out in the IP. Great way to
keep finances within parameters.
