I’m one of the volunteer facilitators of the northeast regional behavior support workshop. The northwest region (see map) currently doesn’t have a facilitator, and I figured I would reach out to OPRA folks to see if anyone would be interested.
These workshops grew out of the technical assistance sessions that DODD presented when the behavior rule rolled out a couple of years back, and have evolved into a general catch-all for best practices around behavior support and other topics.
From my own experience, the advantage of being a facilitator, to be quite frank, is the in-person interactions with folks from the department. Usually, it’s the regional liaison, but the OPSR review managers are quite active as well, and
I think the interactions help to stay on top of best practices.
