Attached are draft versions (and a cheat sheet) of proposed changes to the Medication Administration statute. The proposal includes removing the physician’s order requirement for topical applications (sunscreen,
lip balm, dandruff shampoo, for example) and broadening the delegation authority for insulin and other diabetes related injections.
We have scheduled a conference call with Janet Winterstein for Friday, January 15 @ 11:00 a.m. to review these changes and answer any questions you may have.
To access the call dial 1-800-582-3014 and enter Pin 629 915 092#
We want to take as much time as needed to get through the material and answer questions. We anticipate that this will take about an hour.
Thanks!
