Thank you to everyone who was able to help us go over rules for residential respite, community respite, and H/PC services a few weeks ago. Everyone’s input was extremely helpful in drafting our input to DODD! Attached is DODD’s response to our comments.

I also wanted to make everyone aware that DODD is accepting public comments on many of the ICF rules that need to change in response to the ICF reimbursement language that passed the Ohio Legislature last week. Comments are due to DODD this Sunday. This is a very quick turnaround as DODD has to move extremely quick to get everything in line for a July 1 implementation date. Thank you for providing feedback regarding rule 5123-9-30 (Homemaker/Personal Care), rule 5123-9-22 (Community Respite), and/or rule 5123-9-34 (Residential Respite). A summary of your comments with the Department’s responses is attached. We revised rule 5123-9-30 to move the requirements for “competency-based training” from paragraph (B)(4) to paragraph (F)(7)(a)(ii)(b). The latest version of rule 5123-9-30 is also attached.
