Attached is memo from DODD clarifying the certification/registration requirements of private provider employees under contract with county boards to provide day services.

This memo clarifies that if a provider has certification from DODD, accreditation from a national organization OR certification from another Ohio agency, the county board is expected to request an exemption for that provider from the requirements of individual staff certification under the county board day services staff certification rule.

Therefore, if your agency holds a national accreditation or you have a Medicaid Provider Agreement with ODJFS, you are qualified to provide county funded services without additional staff training/certification processes.

We understand this has been an issue in some areas of the state and appreciate the clarification from DODD. Please let me know if you have any questions.
