Hi everyone.

I am working with our HR Committee Chair (Patty Schlosser) and our Workforce Committee Chair (Lisa Reed) to schedule a date in July to have this discussion. We have information to share about the progress on the workforce retention grant in Toledo, we will have the DSP commercials and written marketing materials to share as well as HR professionals to discuss tips and processes that have proven successful.

At this point, we are looking at July 18 or 20. I will let you know when it is finalized. All are welcome to attend.

We are in Franklin County so we are competing with other providers in this county for the same pool of people. We have staffing problems, but they are not retention problems. Our agency is a little larger than yours, but we do have low turnover. Our largest issue lies in recruiting appropriate caring staff.

ALAS, as much as I want an increase in payments so we can pay our staff better, I have come to the observation that low wages are not the primary problem.

We are on verge of losing 2 more: same thing: interpersonal relationships.

           *   It makes me wonder if we should be doing something (I have no idea WHAT) to be solving THIS problem!!!!
