Does this thread only have to do with licensed homes and ICF/IIDs? Is this something DODD provider compliance would cite or not? Here's a link to the Ohio Attorney General's website listing reason codes: http://www.ohioattorneygeneral.gov/getattachment/af2afa47-c581-4093-a31a-1a7900ac9169/FBI-Background-Check-Reason-Codes.aspx. I do not even see the one you are referring to. When completing the BCII & FBI forms, we always list (for employment in a residential care facility for developmentally disabled). I wonder if we should cite a reason code instead? Joe Bruskotter, Director St. Joseph Home, Inc. The BCI&I check was clean however the Surveyor states that since May 2014 the rule has been that the reason code has to be 5123 081 or "Employment with DoDD, county board of DD or contracting agency". This is requirement news to me. As far as I see we complied with DODD's background check rule despite the incorrect reason code. She said this requirement came from BCI&I and they are instructed to issue Immediate Citations. I don't know how the reason code changes the results of the records check. I don't see this requirement in 5123:2-2-02 and 5160:45 has nothing to do with this. Has anyone encountered this citation or have any information pertaining to this particular requirement that I may have missed last year.
