Ohio Statute calls for the conversion of no less than 500 beds from ICFs to waiver during the five year period beginning July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2018. One of the benefits of a large provider family is the opportunity to learn from others who have previous experience and expertise.
If you are considering converting ICF beds to waiver or are currently in the process please join us Monday, March 16th at our OPRA Policy Committee for the first of an ongoing conversation concerning conversion.
We will have brief presentations from two providers with experience in conversion.
--Cheryl Craver (Our Lady of the Wayside) and Ann Weisent (DODD) will jointly present followed by John Swanson (Echoing Hills). Hear about the good, the challenges, things to think about in planning for conversion and a perspective from the Department. We will have time for questions.
--Start time for the Conversion discussion is 1:00 p.m. Please feel free to join us at 1:00 in person or by video-conference by e-mailing Anita Allen at aallen@opra.org for sign- up information.
Or come for our entire OPRA Policy Committee beginning at 10:00 a.m. We have a full agenda of presenters beginning at 10:30 with Ginnie Whisman (DODD) talking about the closure of Youngstown and Montgomery developmental centers and how OPRA members can help followed at 11:45 by Chris Kristanich (Caregiver Homes) and Buffie LaBelle (REM) training on how to become a Shared Living provider.
We hope to see you!
