The Senate Finance Committee is hosting public testimony on House Bill 33 this Thursday (May 25th). I know it is a tight turn around, but we would like to have as many OPRA members submit written testimony on DODD and OOD's budget initiatives as possible! For your convenience, I attached a template you can use to submit your testimony. In the template there are places for you to customize the testimony to reflect the services your agency provides. This committee will be hearing testimony on both OOD and DODD so you can include information on both if you provide both. It is important you add this customization before submitting the testimony.

This is one of the last opportunities for public testimony. If you have not participated yet but would like too, please consider submitting testimony!

As a reminder, Pete and I did a short (roughly 20 minutes) recording on written testimony. It includes information about the process of written testimony and ways you can customize your testimony.

How to provide written testimony to the Senate Medicaid Committee:

  1.  Use the attached word document as a template.
  2.  Make sure to submit testimony on your agency's letterhead.
  3.  Submit a witness slip (attached). I have already partially filled out the slip so all you have to do is fill in the remaining boxes. If you are also supporting OOD's budget, please include OOD on the "Testifying on Budget Item(s)" line.
  4.  Testimony must be submitted 24 hours before a hearing. The hearing is scheduled for Thursday, May 25th at 9 am. This means your testimony and a witness slip must be submitted no later than Wednesday, May 24th at 9 am.
  5.  In your submission email please indicate you are only providing written testimony and would like it included in testimony for the 5/25 hearing.

  7.  Let Christine know when you submit testimony so we can track of Member advocacy!
