October 6, Patrick will be joining the Ohio Department of Medicaid, where he will lead the managed care team. Patrick is a hard-working, creative, dedicated team player who has provided excellent leadership through a number of significant contributions. While Patrick is leaving DODD, the good news is he is not going far, and in his new role, he will continue to relate to and work with us at DODD. Also, during this transition, Patrick will continue to provide leadership to the CMS transition plan committee, at least through the development of the draft of the transition plan, which is due in November. Please join me in thanking Patrick for his many contributions and wishing him well in his new position. One of the many things Patrick did well was developing a strong team of leaders. I am pleased to announce that one of those team members - Lori Horvath - will become the acting director upon Patrick's departure. Lori will assume that position on October 6. Over the past three years, Lori has been closely involved in many of our Medicaid initiatives. She will provide both continuity and strong, competent leadership as our Medicaid department shepherds in the new CMS transition rule and other Medicaid work initiatives.
