The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act passed the US House.  WIOA seeks to update and improve the nation’s workforce development system.

It received bipartisan support and was the result of a compromise between the Senate and the House.  The legislation was approved by a vote of 415 to 6 by the House of Representatives; it was approved by the Senate last month by a vote of 95-3 and is expected to be signed into law by President Obama.
