We have struggled with different ways to address staff grief. We have had hospice and EAP counselors on site but they have not been well intended. We hold memorial services on site. We create a poster with pictures of the resident who passed away and then staff can write messages on it. It is eventually given to the family. We also let staff decide if they want to be called in the event of a death or wait until they next report to work to learn the information. I think it's hard to meet everyone's needs because reaction to death is so personal and individual.

We are looking for other options for employees that are grieving for individuals passing. We offer hospice grief counseling but does anyone have ideas beyond that ?
