Choking can happen to anyone, but the people we support are at a higher risk.
Please join the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities on October 16 from 1 to 2 PM for an in-depth review of choking incidents across Ohio, including common causes of choking,
how often it happens, and the outcomes for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities. The webinar will address common risk factors and focus on how, working together, we can prevent choking incidents. In addition, the training will provide a list
of practical resources, including key common terms, medical assessments, training tips, and educational videos to minimize choking risks and ultimately raise awareness toward future prevention.
Those who participate in the live webinar will receive one hour of DODD continuing professional development units, including SSAs and IAs. For those who cannot attend, this webinar will be
taped and posted in the DODD Training Catalog for your future viewing.
