Thank you Mark - I know these are high-level principles but I want to make sure that we keep in our sights the forever changing population in our waiver system.   The dual diagnosis, non-compliant behavior, TBI and individuals that display aggressive behaviors seems to be more the norm these days in our waiver system.

Adequate funding for resources, on-going training and more expertise with in each county or COG needs to be available for all individuals and providers.

Thank you for information.

Subject: Guiding Principles for Waiver Reimbursement System Reform

As I’ve mentioned on our Friday morning calls, the draft guiding principles for Ohio’s waiver reimbursement system reform are attached.  The statewide workgroup of providers, county boards, families, self advocates and DODD plan to use these principles to guide our recommendations for this reform.  Please keep in mind that these are very high-level principles and the real work will be developing a recommended system that is in line with these principles.
Please send any comments or feedback on these draft guiding principles to me directly at:  mdavis@opra.org by March 15th.
Thanks.
