During our fall conference, OPRA President Tom Weaver announced our new initiative to supply HIPAA compliance materials specially tailored to the I/DD sector.  Tom encouraged all I/DD providers to take HIPAA seriously -- both to protect the people we all serve, who are especially vulnerable, and to avoid costly penalties that can result from even well-meaning disclosures.

OPRA's HR Committee worked with Ohio-based MyHIPAA Guide on this effort, and helped steer the creation of materials that focus on elevating integrity and good business practices for our providers.
