At the conference next week, OPRA will announce a new initiative which gives DD providers a pathway to HIPAA compliance. Our HR Committee worked with Diane Evans, the publisher of MyHIPAA Guide, to develop materials tailored to DD, including a plan to distribute plans and packaged services through OPRA.
We took on this initiative because HIPAA compliance is critical to DD providers, and we want to make assistance available that is specific to our field.
We will be offering “HIPAA Talk" times for conference attendees. If interested, you can take a HIPAA Hot-Point Survey to gauge your organization’s compliance with HIPAA. This includes a walk through a broad-level risk assessment that can be a real eye opener.
