Hello Everyone!

I just came across a study that is being done regarding career fatigue that was shared with ANCOR members. Thought I would share, as I think the results of this study would be some valuable information. And you can win a Walmart gift card :)

Anyways, here's the info from ANCOR:

ANCOR members, we received this request from a former DSP, now doctoral student who is studying career fatigue in DSPs. Please see her note below and share if you'd like:

My name is Helen Clark and I am former DSP and current doctoral student in the School of Professional Psychology at Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky. In my 2.5 years working as a part-time DSP (until I had to give up the job due to my school work), I gained a great appreciation and understanding for the joys and challenges facing DSPs. Based off of my own experience, I decided to conduct research for my dissertation study on factors that increase and protect against career fatigue in DSPs. I believe this is a crucial area of interest for agencies, DSPs, and individuals being served as high turnover in the field has negative impacts on all parties.  I am currently seeking DSPs across the country that would be willing to participate in the study by taking a brief 10 minute survey. All information gathered in the survey will be kept completely confidential and no identifying information is asked from participants. The study has been approved by the Spalding University Research Ethics Committee. Below is a link to the survey and a brief introduction to the study for you to review.

"Hello my name is Helen Clark and I am a student in the Spalding University School of Professional Psychology. I am currently collecting data for my dissertation study. You are invited to participate in a brief 10-minute survey examining how coping style, mindfulness, and spirituality relate to stress and career fatigue in Direct Support Professionals. Participation in this survey is completely voluntary and confidential. You will not be asked any identifying information. Additionally, you can choose to exit the survey at any time and no data will be given to any employers. At the conclusion of the survey you can enter to win one of two $25 Walmart Gift Cards."
