Please join us to help create the message for our DSP Recruitment Statewide Marketing Plan!

The Ohio Developmental Disabilities Council responded to OPRA’s request to fund the creation of statewide marketing materials for the purpose of recruiting DSPs by awarding OPRA the full amount of $35,000. Council agreed that now is the time to put our system and the importance of providing direct support on the map throughout Ohio as a valued profession. This funding will allow for the design and production of the following: 

1)      Two Television Commercials. These commercials will be cut into :10, :15 and :30-second versions so they can get maximum airtime.

2)      Billboards-two versions to be placed in both rural and urban areas.

3)      Posters-these will reflect the imaging used on the billboards. The ideal placements for these are community colleges, senior centers, local JFS offices, recreation centers, local trade schools and other locations where people gather.

4)      Flyers-smaller versions of the posters that people can walk away with. These flyers will direct people interested in the Direct Support profession to specified contact information.  The flyers can be left in the same locations as the posters.

5)      Social media posts-Facebook, Linkedin

6)      Radio Spots-used on local radio stations targeted for each core demographic. 

All products will be generic with consistent messaging so that they may be adapted and customized and used by all providers across the state. OPRA will work with the Ohio Developmental Disabilities Council, Department of Developmental Disabilities, County Developmental Disabilities Boards, system stakeholders and all providers to ensure the proper availability of the developed materials.
