Timeline Extended for Implementation and Planning

DODD received notice that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) will be issuing a formal Request for Additional Information (RAI) regarding the proposed changes to the adult day, money management, and SELF waiver services. As a result of the formal RAI, the proposed changes will not be effective November 1, 2016 and a new implementation date is pending.

Adult Day Waiver Daily Rates

For dates of service beginning 11/1/16, the “combo code” will no longer be available for providers who deliver a combination of Adult Day Support and Vocational Habilitation to individuals enrolled in waivers.

DODD issued guidance on October 20th, which focuses primarily on service authorizations. The purpose of this communication is to share information with providers regarding the elimination of the “combo code” and the alternatives available for claims submission.
