I don't know if this was brought up previously: Our staff R.N. for The Sech-Kar Co. teaches quite a few DODD Medication Administration classes (initial and CEU) for both our staff and other agencies.
He just pointed out two things to me regarding the suspension of agency certifications during the re-certification process:
1. He can't put into the DODD system any staff who have completed their initial or annual Med Admin training if their agency does not have a current, valid certification. Apparently the MAIS system is tied in with the PCW;
2. He questioned whether any of those newly-trained staff would cause their agencies with expired certifications to get in trouble during this period (particularly if a QNAR were done) because the agencies with expired certifications would have staff passing meds without those staff being listed in the MAIS.
I hope that was kind of clear, because I don't know what the MAIS is.

In preparation for a meeting with DODD and OACBDD on September 6th we would like to have a conference call on provider certification to further identify any issues providers may have with the certification process. It is open to all.
The plan for next Tuesday’s meeting with DODD is for OPRA and OACB to identify structural problems with the process and work through remedies. We would love to have you join us.
Call in number: 800 582-3014
Passcode: 436523982#
*I realize that a conference call is not always the optimum way to get multiple feedback so I ask your patience.
