Season's Greetings and welcome to the last edition of the 2015 OADSP E-Flash Newsletter! We hope you have found the information and
topics discussed throughout the year beneficial to you and your organization.
I would like to take just a moment to reflect on some of the changes that OADSP and the field in general are experiencing. We are at
a crucial point in our field when many founders of organizations are retiring, and OADSP is no different. During 2015, OADSP said goodbye to our founding executive director, Amy Gerowitz, and our founding board president, Tony Thomas. Amy, Tony, and countless
others have dedicated their lives to improving the systems in place for people with disabilities and those that support them. As new leadership emerges in many organizations, it is important to realize that our founders did not intend for us to be satisfied
with the status quo, but rather come in with energy and enthusiasm to build upon the foundations that they have laid.
For OADSP, 2016 will bring with it many new initiatives intended to strengthen the support that we provide to YOU. These new initiatives
include specific resource pages on our website for DSPs, Supervisors, and Administrators; the new Frontline Supervisor Credential, development of a Supervisor Council, the addition of a supervisor track to our annual Summit, and leadership development training.
What is on you agenda for 2016? No matter how daunting your 'to-do' list is, I encourage you to see each challenge as an opportunity to include others and improve services, whether it be for the people you support or the people you employ.
In closing, I would like to extend a heartfelt "thank you" to each and every Direct Support Professional and Frontline Supervisor for the hard work you do. May you find some time this holiday season to reflect on the impact that you have every day, and take
pride in knowing that YOU make a difference.
Sincerely,
OADSP Executive Director

This is the first year in my house that I have my own tree. It's white with glitter, with mostly my pet's and childhood (angel) ornaments.
