Feds Ease Privacy for Business Associates, Too

The U.S. Office for Civil Rights (OCR) has extended relaxed privacy provisions to Business Associates, relating to disclosures of health information.  The standard is clear: Exercise professional judgment in good faith, and there will be no penalties for violations under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

The higher priority is to protect the public health and individuals who may be at risk during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Click here to read the OCR memo.
