We are canceling larger, more populated venue outings and have had a couple clients stop attending until further notice.  We and other ADS providers in our area are waiting to see what our county board is going to do.

Good morning group,

As we move through this stressful time, I appreciate the partnerships and supports more than ever.

Has anyone thought about closing day programs?  Limited programs to only the home provider residents?

What about those without nurses on site, health assessments, at least temperatures of our individuals before they leave for work?

Limiting visitors in the supported living homes?

Just working on our plan here,

thanks in advance!

We met today to work on some ideas and while we don't have a concrete plan spelled out we do have these key issues we are going to implement:
  • We will be using the guidelines from the CDC to consider if we should cancel any planned large gatherings
  • Some of our employees have job roles/tasks that can be accomplished by working from home. Supervisors are reviewing with their staff to see if that is feasible with their guidance .
  • We are putting up signs at our offices and asking home managers to request all staff when entering the homes or office to first go wash their hands upon entry.  Also we are taking more extreme measures to clean common areas more frequently.
  • Obviously if any staff are experiencing cough, fever, breathing difficulty they are expected to stay home.
  • There are some folks who we serve who are more at risk of serious consequences if they get the virus, (those who are older, those with other serious medical issues, asthma, cancer, etc) . We are going to take a much closer look at them and individually determine if we should make the recommendations to them to avoid community activity for a while (such as attending day programs, recreational events, etc) This will be tricky and has a lot of issues attached with it!
  • In all of this I am very concerned about the many changes in client service plans/schedules and meeting all the compliance expectations for services.
We understand that this is a quickly evolving reality and we will need to adjust as we go.

Anyone who has a plan that they would like to share, please send to Pete Moore at Opra.   We will figure out how to make them available to members.

We need to make sure that whatever we put out will be agreeable to DODD, so Pete and his staff are the best to vet those questions.

Jamie,

Can you share some of the plans implemented.  We are currently creating a plan ourselves as well.

We were also wondering if it will be okay to be able to move clients to one location if a lot of our staff find themselves in a situation were they can't come to work because of being sick.    We just don't know if it will be something allow by the state laws.

Thanks,

Carmen

    Hi all,

I just met all morning with my management staff to come up with a contingency emergency plan for my agency in case we are faced with sick clients and sick staff.  It was a tuff exercise for sure.  I'm certain that the rest of you have done this or are starting to do it, but if not, I just want to urge you to spend some time thinking about the "what if's" and how you will respond.

Pete is in ongoing talks with the Department and other agencies to get out information,  in particular identifying if any rule relief can be expected if the worst scenarios hit.  More information to come.

Planning for a crises is hard, but very necessary.

    Stay positive my friends.
