Thank you, everyone, for this discussion.
As Jamie mentioned, I did have the chance to speak to Director Davis this morning and this afternoon regarding DODD's response to the Coronavirus. DODD has been working closely with the Governor's
Office, the Ohio Department of Health, and the human service departments to mobilize now that four Ohioans have been diagnosed with the virus. We will continue to share information and updates from receive from DODD and other state partners as soon as we get
it.
While the number of diagnosed cases in Ohio is still low, it is a good idea to think about how your agency will respond. We are working with our partners at Vorys to develop some resources
on certain legal topics you should consider when developing and implementing your response plan. We are also working with some of our insurance vendors you may also find helpful in planning your response.
We hope to get these resources to you over the next few days.
The State of Ohio developed a website that is devoted completely to providing updates about the corona virus. Here is the link to the website:
https://coronavirus.ohio.gov/wps/portal/gov/covid-19/
Additionally, the CDC has created some posters on the virus and prevention steps that include pictures and plain language you may want to download and distribute as necessary- https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/communication/factsheets.html
Finally, we are planning on rolling out our new website early next week. Christine has already built a space for Coronavirus resources and will be accessible to Members once the new site goes
live.
Thank you for time. We will continue to provide resources as we get them. Please feel free to contact us with questions.

Subject: Re: Crises Planning
I appreciate your honesty as we have been having the same conversations since the news of spreading! Ultimately as a smaller agency we have been leaning more toward notifying our families now and informing them that in the event of a crisis
we will only be providing services to those requiring critical or life sustaining care where there are no other supports available. We would also make every attempt to provide uninterrupted services however it simply can not be guaranteed. We have decided
those caregivers willing to stay and cover abandoned shifts would receive mileage and meal comps in addition to extra pay.
Barries I am experiencing to hiring is applicants lack of drivers license and insurance or education. I’m terribly afraid that it will come down to simply having bodies.
Please let us know your thoughts and feed back.

Hi all,
I just met all morning with my management staff to come up with a contingency emergency plan for my agency in case we are faced with sick clients and sick staff. It was a tuff exercise for sure. I’m certain that the rest of you have done this or are starting to do it, but if not, I just want to urge you to spend some time thinking about the “what if’s” and how you will respond.
Pete is in ongoing talks with the Department and other agencies to get out information, in particular identifying if any rule relief can be expected if the worst scenarios hit. More information to come.
Planning for a crises is hard, but very necessary.
Stay positive my friends.
