The governor issued several orders to residents, public, and private agencies to help limit the spread of the respiratory virus.

• The Ohio Department of Transportation will post information from the Department of Health in rest areas on proper handwashing procedures.
• The Ohio Departments of Rehabilitation and Corrections and Youth Services will increase the use of disinfectants in all state facilities to protect inmates, families, and staff.
• Ohio colleges and universities are called to urge every student and faculty member on campus to get a flu shot immediately.
• Ohio colleges and universities are called to prohibit students and faculty members from visiting countries where travel advisories are issued, such as China and South Korea. 
• The governor is asking college and universities to accommodate students who are studying abroad and may need to come back to the U.S. 
• Aging advocates are asked to check on nursing facilities to ensure illness prevention methods are met.
• Increased cleanings will take place at state-owned buildings.

More than 2,800 people across the globe have died from coronavirus with more than 82,000 confirmed cases, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

County agencies and public health officials are invited to a summit on Columbus on March 5 where DeWine is expected to inform the groups of the latest information on coronavirus.
