Hello,

Recently Impact Safety, a provider of self-defense training, developed a course specifically for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities called Impact:Ability.

Development and the first few courses are grant funded, through Ohio Department of Public Safety’s Office of Criminal Justice Services, Family Violence Prevention & Services Act, 2019.

There is research documenting its effectiveness and the first course was just successfully completed at ARC Industries in Franklin County.

Impact Safety would like to expand this and keep the training completely grant-funded, so we are trying to gauge interest to apply for more grants. So here’s the question: If Impact:Ability self-defense training, specifically for people with I/DD were available for people you support would you be interested in hosting a training?

I realize this is hard to judge and we are not looking for commitments, just gauging interest for grant applications. I have attached a one-page flier with more information.

If you would be interested or you’d like more information, please drop us a short note at info@aldridgepalay.com

Thanks

Kevin
