Happy Friday!
The Ohio Department of Medicaid held their monthly EVV stakeholder meeting this past Wednesday. I have attached the presentation and summarized some of the highlights below.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
Device Upgrade-
- ODM and Sandata are in the fourth week of their device swap and recovery efforts. ODM and Sandata are mailing return kits to individuals with the selected devices. You can check to see if anyone you support has some of the devices by checking Sandata’s
eTRAC portal. Directions on how to this were emailed to providers using the Sandata system in January.
- Out of 25,000 devices that need to be updated or returned 4,100 return kits have been mailed and 94 devices have been returned.
Alternate Vendor Demonstrations-
- 7 alternate vendors have passed the demonstration requirement. Demonstrations for alternate vendors that have not yet passed the requirement are ongoing.
- If you and your alternate vendors are working with Sandata and feel that you Sandata is not being responsive, please reach out to the EVV inbox at evv@medicaid.ohio.gov.
Please include a brief explanation of the issue and include any ticket numbers you have for the issue(s).
Training-
DODD Update-
- The number of providers using EVV and the number of claims with adequate EVV units has remained stable.
- DODD has done an analysis of why some claims on the eMBS EVV reports show up as one unit of EVV short. There are a few explanations (with screenshots) for why this may happen on slides 20 through 26 of the attached presentation.
The Attorney General Office
- Presented on how the AG’s office is using EVV data to supplement and expedite fraud investigations.
- So far, EVV data has been used to support fraud charges in 4 indictments.
- EVV data has also been used in AG cases to confirm that services are being delivered.
Have a great weekend,
