Join us for a free workers’ compensation seminar presented by industry experts. This lunch and learn seminar qualifies for an external Safety Council credit from the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) for group rated and group retrospective rated employers. 

TOPIC:

Claims management – Perspectives of a doctor, lawyer and claims director

SPEAKERS:

  • Dr. David Tanner, Memorial Health – Dr. Tanner is the Medical Director of Occupational Health / Memorial Hospital. He specializes in occupational, environmental and preventative medicine. He previously served as Section Chair for Occupational and Environmental Medicine and Preventative Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Dr. Tanner has received numerous awards including the OhioHealth Prism Award for Business Unit-Stewardship.
  • Mr. Ben Crider, BWC Attorney – Ben is the Director of Hearing Services for the BWC’s Legal Department. He also serves as Legal Counsel to the Special Investigations Department. Ben has been with BWC since 2011. Prior to that, after graduating from The Ohio State University College of Law, he spent ten years at a private firm representing employers and injured workers.
  • Ms. Ann Shannon, BWC Director of Claims – Ann has worked for BWC since 1993. She is currently the Chief of Claims Policy and Support. She leads the group providing support services to the Claims Division. Ann has also served as Legal Counsel to BWC. Her responsibilities include serving as a hearing officer, helping develop policy initiatives, and representing BWC at Industrial Commission hearings. She earned her BA at The Ohio State University and J.D. at Boston University School of Law.
