We suggest to our of our clients to do just as Shannon does. If you are doing them in house, Make sure you have a release form to satisfy the Grahm-leach-Bliley act. As an agency, we use to do this for clients but there have been several cases where employment offers were revoked or employment terminated due to driving history and the insurance agency was brought in to suit for sharing information.

As for background checks, Most insurance carriers in this field have discount programs for background checks. If you haven't already, reach out to your broker to get some info.

Thanks,

Andy Kremer

We use the local Sheriff’s office and then we require them to go to the Department of Motor Vehicles and receive a certified copy of their driver’s abstract.

Sandco does their own in house.  We also could use the Sheriff’s office if we needed too.
