Earlier today Governor DeWine signed the state fiscal year 2020-2021 operating budget. We are incredibly grateful for the Governor, his administration, and the Legislature’s commitment to services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and the DSPs who support them.

Governor DeWine included 25 line-vetoes. One of these vetoes was for the language associated with the wage increase for DSPs providing HPC. It is important to the Governor that the wage increase is handled through the rule process under administrative control and not in statute.  Please note that while the language was removed from the state budget, the funding for the increase was left intact.

We will work closely with Director Davis and DODD to navigate the logistics of how the DSP wage increases will be implemented through the rule development process.
