Subject: Screening of Documentary about Special Needs Children, Sat., May 25, Upper Arlington Library
Anita Allen, Interim President and CEO of OPRA (Ohio Provider Resource Association)
Dear Anita,
Thanks for taking the time to talk with me this afternoon. And thanks for sharing the information about the
documentary with your colleagues.
I recently completed a 45 min. documentary
Champions Together about Joan Taylor, an Anat Baniel Method NeuroMovement Practitioner, who works with ‘special needs’ children to improve physical, emotional and cognitive functioning.
Anat Baniel, the founder of ABM NeuroMovement, has developed
a movement-based clinical approach making it possible to communicate with a child’s brain, taking advantage of brain plasticity, to improve a child’s functioning.
The title
Champions Together reflects the reality that improving functioning is a team effort between the ABM practitioner, the child and their parents.
The documentary features Joan’s work with two special needs children: Brentlee, age 6 months, who had a brachial-plexus birth injury resulting
in a paralyzed left arm; and Myka, age 3, who has cerebral palsy.
There will be a free public screening at the Upper Arlington Public Library on Saturday, May 25 at 2PM. The screening will be followed by a Q&
A with Joan Taylor.
We are hoping to create greater awareness and understanding of the potential of the Anat Baniel Method NeuroMovement and are inviting members of
the medical and ‘special needs’ advocacy communities, in addition to other interested persons.
I’ve attached a flier for the screening and also a link to the 5 minute trailer on YouTube. Please let me know if you have any questions.
