our experience in a compliance review is that the staff must be treated as a new hire

Subject: question for listserve

I looked through the rules and didn’t find anything regarding this scenario:

A staff person resigns (with notice, moved away) in September of 2018.  She is now back in town and would like to work for us again.

Do we need to treat her like a new hire or can some of her initial hire checks/paperwork/training still be valid?

If anyone has had experience with this, please let me know.  Thanks!
