Subject: An important update regarding EVV and Claims

Good afternoon.

Would you please share the following update with your members.  Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

“The Ohio Department of Medicaid (the Department) remains committed both to fully implementing Electronic Visit Verification and ensuring individuals receive the services they need.  After reviewing an analysis of the potential impact of EVV related edits on claims, we would like more discussion with stakeholders before we proceed.   So the Department will not begin to deny claims using EVV related edits for dates of service on and after February 13, 2019, as previously scheduled.

The analysis regarding the potential impact of EVV on claims and the Department’s plans for moving toward a full implementation will be shared at the stakeholder meeting on February 11, 2019 at 2 p.m.

Please note that this does not change the provider’s obligation to use EVV for all visits for Phase 1 services. “

Thank you for your continued participation in the Ohio Medicaid EVV Project.  Please let us know if we can be of any assistance.
