Happy New Year Anita -

Here is our policy (for our ICF, our licensed Waiver sites and our day program divisions) as it relates to petty cash & staff meals at Koinonia:

Petty cash can be used to cover costs staff incur while accompanying clients on activities in the community.  Therefore, it can be used to purchase tickets, but it should not be used for snacks for staff such as popcorn and soda at the movie theater.  If staff accompanies an individual on an activity that includes a meal, the staff meal cannot exceed $10.

Happy New Year everyone! Please see a member question below. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

When staff takes a client out to get food we are finding it difficult to determine when it is appropriate for the staff to use agency petty cash to help pay for their meal when they take individuals out. Do any other providers have a policy in place guiding the use of agency petty cash? Does this scenario make sense? I am finding it hard to put this in writing.
