My understanding is that is all any notary can confirm in this situation that the person in front of them presenting the form to be notarized is being truthful and honest to the best of the notary's knowledge. The notary is not verifying the information as truth, but rather that the person in front of them is filling out this form and the information on the form is what they indicated and the person is who they claim to be.

I am looking for an easier way to verify an applicant's residency. I understand one of the options is to have the applicant submit a Notarized Statement. My secretary is a Notary, however she is concerned about signing something she cannot verify. I think all she is doing is notarizing the applicant is attesting their residency. You have anything that will clear this up for her?
