I have been trying for a couple of weeks to track someone down at the department to get an answer to the driver abstract question. I was finally able to talk with Kelly Miller today. She said that they really were trying to be "more reasonable" about these kinds of things. She said that she believed that what they care about is if it is done and that the person has a clean record. She said as long as it is clear that it is a screen shot from the BMV and not just some fabricated document from the individual etc. they will accept it. She asked that if you have situations where you have been told differently she would like for you to send them to her (or to me if you do not feel comfortable sending them to her directly and I will communicate them to her,) so that she can take a look at them to try to determine why they would not accept the screen shot from the BMV. Her email is kelly.miller@dodd.ohio.gov I hope this is helpful. Please if you are getting conflicting directives let myself or Kelly know so that we can continue to hold them to the standard of being reasonable. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions or examples that you would like for me to pass on. Have a great week. Does anyone know if this new standard about not having an "official" drivers' license abstract is in writing anywhere?
