As youve probably heard, we have launched our leadership training program
and Im proud to say that after only a few days we have 11 folks signed up!
Not bad.
If you remember, when I spoke to all of you about the program I told you
that I would be calling upon each of you to assist as either a speaker
and/or a coach. The time has come!
I am looking for names and contact information of people you know that are
experts in the areas described below. If you could make the initial
contact for me, Ill take it to the next step.
Additionally, once we get all of our folks signed up (25 participants or
April 20th whichever comes first), I would like to assign them coaches.
That is where you will come in. Basically you will periodically out to
person you are assigned to and provide your wisdom and friendship. At the
Board meeting on Wed, please let me know if you would be willing to be a
coach for the year.
SPEAKERS NEEDED
1. Someone who can provide a comprehensive history of the
residential/vocational provider in Ohio and describe the various models and
modalities of programs operating in the past,today and in the future.
Basically a history of the DD provider, where we were, where we are now and
where we are going.
2. Human Resources in a DD provider agency. A comprehensive view of the
HR basics (hiring, firing, discipline, employment law, policy &
procedures, performance evaluations). What are the current and future
challenges in HR.
3. Marketing: The need for targeted marketing of services and supports in
the non-profit sector. Why its important now more than ever, that
non-profits convey who they are and what they do so to meet the challenges
of a new client base.
4. CEO, Highs and Lows: Looking for someone or a group that can talk about
CEO challenges in the past, present and future. Looking for the real good
stuff, the stuff that makes one drink.
5. Strategic Planning and Board Development.
6. Development and Fundraising
7. Finance, Utilization strategies and billing challenges in the DD system.
8. Aging and our DD System, A strategy.
9. Board Members. What it means to be on a non-profit board and the
relationship with the CEO
Ill reach out to anyone you folks recommend, so please think about experts
that you have heard or used in the past. Perhaps one of you feel that you
could do a good job training on one or more of the topics. Each speaker
should be prepared for a two hour presentation. This would be a free
service to mankind. Im sure Teri can find some candy to give out if
needed.
