Here is my recollection of our call today.  During the board call we all agreed that there would be "radio silence" about this news, that no one would talk with anyone about it (except that I mentioned that I was talking with the OPRA staff).  Jamie decided that he would convene the executive committee, then a board call, then the board would have a conversation with me to determine our transition communication strategy.  We wanted to control the message and timing, as I said that my new employer would be announcing it at their annual meeting on Monday.  Then, OPRA could announce it anytime after that and that my new employer would not put anything in writing until Friday (out of respect for OPRA to communicate with our members directly/at our conference, if so decided).

Tonight, we received an inquiry from the county boards, who already know that I'm leaving OPRA.  In my opinion, this is harmful to OPRA and contrary to what we agreed to on the board call.  As I said on the call today, I think it's important that we handle this transition thoughtfully.  Please advise how you as a board want to proceed.
