One of the many things that can keep an Administrator like all of us up at night.  Horrible story below.  Community services are wonderful in so many ways, but I tell my management staff over and over, WE need to stress the importance of following protocol when it comes to medication disbursement.  I’ve never felt comfortable with the limiting aspect of the medication delegation rule as it relates to our DSP staff.

As we all “loosen” our “standards” with hiring DSP staff due to the difficulty with finding people to fill jobs, this should scare us more than it ever has.

I’m sharing the article with my staff and just continue to hammer home the importance of paying attention.  Thought you might want to do the same.
