First, I would like to thank you for your support and for your approval of our 2024 budget.  2024 is going to be an important year for us and the OPRA Team is excited for what we can accomplish in our 50th year!

Second, as I mentioned last week at the OPRA Board meeting, a major component of our 2024 budget included the addition of a new OPRA Team member.  We are happy to share that Teresa Kobelt will be joining our team the first week of January 2024.  I attached Teresa’s bio and resume so you have the chance to get to know her.  I also attached a draft of the job description for the Chief Innovation Officer position that Teresa will be filling.  As you will see, her personal and professional experience is a great addition to our already strong team and will further enhance our ability to serve our members.

An official announcement to the membership about the new position will be made during our Friday 5 call on January 5th.

As you know, we have been working with Chris Whistler over the past several months.  Chris has been helping us navigate the early stages of the waiver redesign work as well as assisting us to create an waiver redesign action step framework.  Chris has been an amazing partner over the past year plus.  He will continue to work with us through January 2024 as we transition the waiver redesign work to Teresa.  We look to an ongoing association with Chris and he will continue to be engaged with OPRA moving forward.
