Hi Anita,
It’s taken me far too long to send the attached proposal. My apologies. It was a busy year. Multiple clients engaged me in large projects about the time when we last communicated.
Attached is a proposal to provide comprehensive crisis communications planning and training to OPRA member organizations. The crisis communications program will involve much more than sitting in a room listening to a speaker. It will involve drafting written plans for each organization, developing skills to handle news interviews, conducting drills to test what participants have learned and much more.
Parts of the proposal could be adjusted if you see items that might work better for OPRA members if they’re revised. I promise to respond promptly.
Happy New Year!
Elliot

Hi Anita,
I agree we could hold sessions in Columbus for the organizations that are willing to travel there. I'd like to start with that. I think it'd be good to start with them in fall 2018, perhaps right after Labor Day. Agree
Then, the following spring or fall, we could hold sessions in Cleveland for member organizations based in that region. The interested Akron member organization might be willing to go to Cleveland. I think they will (At this point, it's impractical to offer regional services in Celina and Coschocton. They would need to be willing to travel to Columbus or Cleveland.) Columbus is fine. They are used to traveling, unfortunately.
A few questions:
* Could you please give me a list of the towns where the member organizations are based that expressed interest in Columbus? I don't have them any longer. They were from all corners of the state. Most said home base was choice 1 and Columbus choice 2.
* Does OPRA have a conference room that holds at least 30 people? (I'd want multiple representatives from each participating organization to be involved. Crisis communications needs to be a team effort.) Yes
* Could your conference room tables be arranged so we're facing each other? Yes
* Do you have a sense, based on experience, how many of the interested organizations might actually move forward with this? Best guess is 8 to 10
* Is there anything I would need to do to enable them to get CEU credits? We have relationships with accrediting bodies. We could see if they might be interested and follow up. Generally, we only offer CEU's for conference sessions.
After I hear back from you, next step will be for me to determine more details such as:
* Number of sessions I'd hold in Columbus where all the interested orgs are involved.
* Number of sessions at their offices. That would include a drill. (It wouldn't be realistic to do it in Columbus). I might do the media training at their offices too.
* Fees
Let me know how you want to proceed.
Thanks,
Elliot

Thanks, Anita. That sounds like a good response.
One question: Did each of the 16 replies represent a distinct member organization? In other words, you didn't get multiple replies from any organizations, correct? Correct. 16 separate agencies.
Other than that, I'll try to get back to you by the end of the week with my thoughts.

Hi Elliott. Here are the survey results.
I had 16 replies.
All were interested in the training.
6 requested regional training. They were from Akron, Celina, Coshocton, Cleveland (3)
The remaining 10 requested Columbus.
I don't know if we can make this work financially with the regional training structure. Clearly sessions in Columbus would work. Your thoughts?
