We just went through license review of both our homes: an 8 bed and a 4
bed.
ONE of the questions which arose was “Can the individual pay out of their
own funds for food when they go out with the Adult Day Services
program?” Our interpretation of the Room and Board Rule was
NO.
FORTUNATELY, the Licensure folks checked and confirmed:
- “Good afternoon,
I confirmed with my
manager that room and board doesn’t include eating out or activities.
So for example, as
we talked before, if someone chooses to go to Wendy’s or bowling, they can do
so and pay with their own personal funds if that’s what they want to do. This
also wouldn’t need to be reflected in the IP.”
