Advocacy is important to a person’s life, and is essential so that a person can speak up regarding their needs, wants, and desires to have a good
life. Self-advocacy is a necessary skill when making important decisions as well as dealing with issues with professionals, friends
and family and advocacy is about the person excising control and responsibility over their life. We all want to exercise control and responsibility over our lives and we do that by making choices, taking risks, and utilizing failure as an opportunity to “stretch”
and see failure as a positive enforcer.
